  1. These noodles are richly flavored, hot and savory. The chewy chunks of mushroom complement the toothsome noodles deliciously. I agree with another reviewer- these are the best prepared by the boiling water method rather than the microwave. The price is high compared to other noodles, but I’ll be reordering these early and often!

  2. I’ve had a lot of Ramen noodles including other Nongshim noodles and I have to say this is hands down the best Ramen I’ve had. The cup size that I got is a perfect serving size for me. Though my girlfriend finds these noodles way too spicy for her liking (more for me!), I find the flavor and the overall spice to be perfect for me. The only downside I can see to these is cost, they are a tad spendy for ramen, however for me that’s offset by being the best ramen I’ve ever had so for me I find it worth the price.

  3. O…M…G!!!!!! I have NEVER in my ENTIRE life tasted a “cup noodle” as delicious as THIS! I grew up on Nissin and mostly Maruchaun, but Nongshim has spoiled me. I no longer have a desire in my life for noodles in a cup unless they’re Nongshim Shin Noodle Black Cup. How did this happen? I’m now a CUP NOODLE SNOB…and strangely proud of it, lol.

  4. This stuff is truly excellent. It’s got a perfect blend of spicy and savory, and is somewhat reminiscent of a Chinese hot and sour soup. I don’t eat them often, but I look forward to each one I do eat as a real treat. They are very filling and reasonably nutritious for what is basically fancy ramen. The little chunks of real vegetable (including shiitake mushrooms!) really adds to the effect. I will definitely continue to buy these.

  5. I love this soup. Very filling. You control the spicyness of it. It has a soup base packet and a spicy base packet-use either or a combination of both. There are pieces of hot chili peppers which you can remove before or after you prepare the soup to your liking. There are nice chunks of mushrooms too which give the soup a wonderful flavor. I eat it year round, but it is excellent during cold weather.

  6. In general, I’ve always found cup ramen to be not quite as tasty as their regular counterparts. That said, this still tastes pretty good, and is better than the regular Shin Cup ramen. That said, it’s also much more expensive, and out of what I consider reasonable ramen price range. If you’re going to get a “premium” ramen, get the regular package to get the full flavor.

  7. It’s heavier than you’d expect, but it tastes great and is quite filling. One of the better noodle cups I’ve had.

  8. This is a very good instant ramen. I think it has very tasty noodles, and a very flavorful, surprisingly complex tasting broth. I’ve had this both in the cup version here, and the cellophane packs that have to be made on the stove. As is usual for these types of things, I think the ones made on the stove do taste noticeably better (and are cheaper, though the cost difference was a lot more noticeable on the ones I bought at the supermarket than they are on amazon), but the cups have a major convenience factor. I think these get 5 stars when compared to other cups of instant ramen, but for me the convenience doesn’t quite outweigh the taste difference compared to the stovetop version, which is why I put 4 stars.

  9. I like this one better than the straight Shin noodles. Not quite as spicy but still enough kick. I often slip this one down pretty far while eating the noodles, something I don’t don’t usually do with the other. Re-ordering.

  10. I really like the Shin Black. It has a fuller taste to the broth, and its not as watery as the regular shin ramyun. That being said, i wish it was spicier, its noticeably less spicy than the regular kind. I would have said 5 stars, but I personally think these a little over priced for microwave noodles, i mean the normal shim ramyun is already a dollar a piece, i dont see how these should be so much more.
